"During rehabilitation, I joined the Enter DJ program, and I returned to the world of DJing.Today, I’m presenting my first mix."
That’s how Roman described on Instagram the first result of his creative journey — a mix featuring fresh versions of classic hits from the 80s to the present day.
"For my birthday, my beloved wife — my angel — gave me a controller. I was over the moon... I connected it to my laptop for the first time — and spent at least eight hours with it nonstop. Until my wife said, 'You’ve completely forgotten about me!'"
Music has always been a vital part of Roman’s life. Back in school, he used to copy cassettes of Dr. Alban, Technotronic, and Depeche Mode. His first rave in Odesa convinced him completely: “This is my thing.” Later, during breaks between his maritime shifts, Roman would DJ at the “California” club in Kalynivka — and loved getting the crowd going with his sets.
For a long time, DJing was left behind — due to work on tech fleet ships and constant relocations. Then came the full-scale invasion, the front lines, and a serious injury. In March 2022, Roman volunteered for the infantry and lost both legs in combat.
After several surgeries, prosthetics, and rehabilitation at the Superhumans Center, Roman joined the EnterDJ course.
"While playing on the controller, I don’t feel any phantom pain at all. I get so immersed in this unique atmosphere… I forget all the hardships that have happened to me and to our country."
Today, Roman presents his first mix — an inspired selection that blends 80s classics, contemporary remixes, and modern electronic sounds.
